Mark Krikorian and Steven Camarota for The Center for Immigration Studies held a forum on the CIS report "Dropping Out: Immigrant Entry and Native Exit From the Labor Market, 2000-2005," centered on immigration and its effects on the labor market. Among the topics addressed were legislative proposals for immigration reform before the Senate, guest worker programs, jobs available to immigrant populations, and levels of competition for employment. Panelist Jared Bernstein of the Economic Policy Institute and Paul Harrington representing Northeastern Univ. Center for Labor Market Studies provided additional commentary.
