Jon Feere

Director of Investigations

Mr. Feere previously served in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as the Senior Advisor to the Director and as ICE’s Chief of Staff from January 2017 to January 2021, a political appointee of the Trump Administration.

Mr. Feere has worked at the Center in different positions, starting in 2002 and returning in 2021. He received his B.A. in political science and communications from the University of California, Davis and his J.D. from American University's Washington College of Law. While in law school he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, specifically, the Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Claims. He also interned as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Montgomery County Maryland Office of the State's Attorney.

Mr. Feere has been quoted by the national media including the Associated Press, Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and many other newspapers. He also has appeared on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, PBS News Hour, One America News, and is often a guest on radio stations throughout the country.

Mr. Feere is a contributor at TheHill.com and his editorials have appeared in various publications including the Daily Caller, The National Interest, U.S. News & World Report, Washington Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Townhall Magazine, and Jurist.

Mr. Feere has testified before Congress.

Mr. Feere has spoken at college campuses including Harvard University, University of Texas, and American University's Washington College of Law, and his work has been cited in a number of law review articles. He has also served as a guest panelist for the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program where he discussed U.S. and international immigration policy with foreign leaders.
