Mark Krikorian, Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies and Sarah Uribe talked about the "Secure Communities", a George W. Bush-era program which requires the FBI to share with the Department of Homeland Security the fingerprints of everyone booked into local jails (the prints are then checked against the DHS immigration database for possible deportation). The Obama administration recently told 39 Governors looking to opt out their states from the program that they could not. Mr. Krikorian's group supports the program, Ms. Uribe's group does not. They also responded to telephone calls and e-mails.
