Mark Krikorian and Steven A. Camarota for the Center for Immigration Studies discussed illegal immigration funneling into California. Panelist Victor Davis Hanson, the author of "Mexifornia: A State of Becoming," focused on the creation of "an alternate legal universe" in California in which illegal Mexican immigrants are allowed to obtain drivers' licenses, for example, and to use false documents for getting jobs. Joseph Perkins of the San Diego Union-Tribune talked about the tendency of Mexican immigrants not to assimilate or learn English, creating a permanent lower class.
