Pakistani Brits Open up on Deceptive Alien-Citizen Marriages

By David North on October 15, 2013

There is relatively little written in the U.S. about deception-based immigration/marriage fraud.

That occurs when the alien persuades the citizen (or, less often, the green card holder) that the alien is in love with the citizen and wants to marry that person for his or her charms – when the real attraction is a green card for the alien.

Sometimes we at CIS hear from an individual U.S. citizen who has suffered this fate, usually only after the marriage has happened, and the green card awarded, as was reported in this recent blog.

But there does not seem to be a body of literature, of any kind, on the subject. On the other hand, I ran across a lively and outspoken website on this subject in Great Britain.

It deals quite precisely with how Pakistanis, with either UK citizenship or UK legal status, feel about Pakistani aliens of the other sex who want to marry them for the Brit equivalent of our green card.

It's not clear how widely read the site is (none of the reader comments appear to be substantive), but it does discuss the matter quite frankly and with strong feeling. Here are some quotations from the pakmarriages website.

This one is about Pakistani alien males (Emphasis in the original):

Their ONLY intention in marrying a British woman is for the Nationality. It is as simple as that.

Before they get their indefinite visa they will do anything to please you, and only show their true colour when their visas are 100% confirmed. They say the most romantic things, buy you gifts (often with your money) to make you believe they love you. They do not love you, they only love the passport that they will get through your gullibility.

And here's one about Pakistani alien women from the same internet source:

When you first meet them they seem so innocent, so Ghareloo (homely) type. IT IS ALL AN ACT. An act which your brother [i.e., other male legal residents with a Pakistani background] is guaranteed to fall for. Very few of our brothers see through this facade. They fall for their fake charms and cannot comprehend that someone who prays 5 times a day can be bad.

How and why do they do it? When you work them out it is quite simple. They have certain goals to achieve in coming to the UK and they will not let us (straight forward British citizens) stand in their way. All the women have the same mentality.

The writer (or writers), who has an excellent grasp of forceful English prose, is apparently not motivated by any concerns about immigration policy, writ large. Instead he is defending a precise population in the UK against abuse by an ethnically similar population, of the opposite sex.

I have no idea how large the UK readership is for this material, or how effective it is, but it would be healthy if something like this were written for the potential victims of this kind of marriage fraud in the U.S.

Any volunteers to establish such a web-site?
