Leaksmy Norin worked for the State Department for over 25 years in senior policy positions related to national security. Ms. Norin served as a senior advisor at State Department headquarters and at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, where she advised senior officials on migration, humanitarian, and human rights issues. She also worked on counterterrorism, human trafficking, and refugee/migration policies. Ms. Norin held senior positions in legislative affairs, including managing the State Department’s congressional liaison office. As a Georgetown Congressional Fellow, she advised the House Homeland Security Committee on counterterrorism and immigration issues.

Ms. Norin’s research focuses on the security aspects of migration and how immigration policies affect national security and counterterrorism priorities.
