Obama's Policies Are Responsible for the Flood of Children in Texas

Before the immigration crisis is over in Texas, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, many of them minors, will have entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico this year. A large portion of the illegal aliens are from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The Obama Administration has blamed the overwhelming influx on gang violence and poverty. Hogwash. The living conditions in the source countries have been stable for years. There is certainly violence and abject poverty in Central America, but there has been no change in living conditions that would prompt an unprecedented exodus of children.

A New Justification for Not Deporting Illegal Alien Criminals

The Obama Administration and open-border advocates have crafted a number of dubious rationales for not deporting illegal aliens as required by law. The bogus notion that deportations are "tearing families apart" is not a new pretext, but it has gained traction with our President of late. It is rare to come across an original justification for not enforcing our immigration laws, but occasionally an imaginative media faction concocts a truly remarkable excuse for malfeasance.

Demonizing the Border Patrol Is Part of Comprehensive Immigration Reform

President Obama has taken extraordinary steps to restrict immigration law enforcement in our nation's interior. Ex-DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano was all too willing to support Obama's anti-enforcement ideology by implementing enforcement policies that effectively gifted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have had their hands tied to such an extent that an illegal alien who slips past the Border Patrol now faces little risk of being arrested and deported.

A Border Patrol Agent Will Soon Face an Unwarranted Media Attack

In a post I wrote on March 8, I lamented the media's mischaracterization of Border Patrol Chief Michael Fisher's use of force memorandum to agency personnel. The national media was positively giddy about the compulsory "limitations" and "restrictions" on the use of deadly force against attackers using "only" rocks in their endeavor to kill a Border Patrol Agent.
