The Center for Immigration Studies held a panel to introduce the report, "Impossible Dream or Distant Reality? Republican Efforts to Attract Latino Voters" authored by James G. Gimpel and Karen Kaufmann. Mark Krikorian, Executive Director of CIS, moderated the panel with Steven A. Camarota, Director of Research of CIS, and Ramesh Ponnuru, the Senior Editor of National Review and Mr. Gimpel. Participants talked about partisan identification and voting behavior among Hispanics, as well as prospects for attracting Hispanics to the Republican Party. Among the issues they addressed were immigration policy, voting behavior, and demographics. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.
