Something I didn't mention in today's piece for National Review Online on the start of Obama's unconstitutional amnesty program for certain illegal aliens claiming to be under 30: If Congress doesn't rouse itself to push back against the president's usurpation of their authority, you can expect a lot more amnesties like this in a second Obama term.
Activists are already working to get California to issue work cards to illegal aliens, with the Obama administration enabling the action through more extra-legal programs like the one being launched today. Likewise, open-borders advocates have been pushing for years to have all Mexican illegal aliens be granted Temporary Protected Status, which is a permanent amnesty (despite the name) for illegals who don't meet the definition of a refugee. There's every reason to believe that an Obama administration with more flexibility after reelection would amnesty virtually all illegal aliens before the end of 2016, whether Congress votes for it or not. And why wouldn't they? Having gotten away with it once, they have every reason to think they can get away with it again.
